Rejuvenation

Last week in Hilton Head was spectacular.  It was sorely needed.  And even though logic would have dictated that I cancel the entire trip due to the current financial situation, I threw caution to the wind and have no regrets.  Everything about it was wonderful - we left from a cloudy Newark; landed in a sunny South Carolina and was treated to an instant upgrade on the rental car.  Found the resort with no mis-steps (actually, did not get lost once, which is a great thing!) - fantastic, comfortable room; spacious; easy access to the beach and parking.  The water was beautiful, clean and warm - the sand is spotless.

The area itself is lovely and lush (so green!); we had Low Country boil; barbecue; homemade ice cream; a few fun trips for souvenirs, a sunset cruise and a full spa day which took so much tension right out from both of us - truly the best form of therapy.  Every morning, after (healthy) breakfasts, we were in the gym and I think I can say we both still feel great.  And I'm thankful to the heavens that when we left, the rain subsided long enough for us to fly home in sunshine and a stunning New York City.  Laundry done almost as quickly as we arrived home and Fresh Direct delivered groceries early Sunday, so we didn't have to go out shopping.

Subsequently, this week back in the normal groove/routine has been smooth.  And the weather has been no less than stellar - almost an early autumn feeling.

So yes - the week away did me good on all levels.
